New private bank head at Westpac

Westpac has appointed Richard Jarrett as head of private banking in New Zealand. He replaces Adam Ward who has moved to the role of head of country Vanuatu.

"Adam has handed an outstanding franchise to Richard, with customer, staff and shareholder outcomes at market leading standards," Westpac chief manager wealth, private and migrant banking, Ben Elliott says.

Jarrett comes to Westpac from a highly successful career at the Bank of New Zealand where he was regional manager personal financial services in the key Auckland market.

"Richard comes to us very highly regarded in the industry, and we are thrilled to have secured his services," Elliott says. Jarrett commenced in August.
