Taranaki residents plan to try and stop TSB sale - but there's a hitch; ASB hikes rates

ASB is the latest bank to increase fixed rates.
It has increased its fixed home loan rates by between 10-26 bps on its 6-month to three-year terms and has increased term deposit rates by 10-20 bps on its 6-month to two-year terms.
ASB’s Executive General Manager Personal Banking Adam Boyd says “We’re continuing to see volatility in wholesale interest rates, which have climbed over the past month. This has a direct bearing on the rates we offer on lending and deposits, in line with what is happening in markets around the world.”
Pero ends its brief NZX listing
Mike Pero Mortgage (MPM) is to be delisted from the New Zealand Stock Exchange following the successful takeover of the company.

MPM shares will cease trading at market close on September 26 and cease quotation at close of market on September 29.
Mike Pero Mortgage Holdings, a company jointly owned by Liberty Financial and NZ Finance took full control of the company on September 15 when it become the dominant shareholder with more than 90% of the company.
At that point it has moved to compulsorily acquire all the remaining MPM shares.
Chairman Abigail Foote has resigned from the MPM board from yesterday.
