Juno hires from Australia, police

New KiwiSaver scheme Juno has bolstered its ranks.

The subscription-based provider has been in the market since July.

It charges no fees for people ages under 18 or with a balance less than $5000.

The scheme is run by Pie Funds, although Juno takes a different investment approach to what many Pie clients are used to - investing in "household names" because KiwiSaver members like to know where their money is invested.

Pie Funds founder Mike Taylor said it had made a number of new appointments.

Julia Bartlett has been hired as head of operations at Juno. Bartlett was previously head of fund operations at Future Super in Australia, a superannuation fund provider with an ethical, fossil-fuel-free approach.

Prior to that, she had been head of member services at Grosvenor Pirie Management and was in adviser support at AMP.

Matt Laurenson has been appointed head of people and culture for both Juno and Pie Funds. He was previously with the NZ Police for 20 years.
