QuoteMonster director Russell Hutchinson says he is pleased to announce the appointment of Treena Jordan to the role of general manager.

Jordan has a long history in the insurance business and heads to QuoteMonster from Cigna where she held a role in product management after also spending time in similar roles with ANZ and AIA.

Hutchinson says Jordan has a strong insurance background and is well known and liked by advisers.

"Alan [Rafe] resigned in November and left before the end of the year and we found Treena in late February," Hutchinson says.

"Alan owned half of the business and last month we bought out his share and concluded a strategic review of the business.

"We've got a very busy period ahead of us. There's always change going on in the site, it's almost relentless with new products having to be updated all of the time."

Hutchinson says there's also a significant website review underway with some big changes coming up along with a package of new research reports and company reports which will be available to subscribers shortly.

"A record high of 2504 users visited QuoteMonster in the last 28 days so that confirmed it was a very busy March.

"More advisers than ever are interested in comparisons.

"It seems that advisers, regulators, and consumers all agree that comparisons are an essential part of financial advice.

"This situation is dynamic - you cannot form a view and then keep expecting that to hold true - every quarter, on average, four insurers change the pricing for eight product lines and the policy wordings for five product lines.

"This is now even more important after the regulation changes," he says.
