RBNZ trying to work out what's happening in the housing market; Rates rise

“Something has definitely changed in the housing market,” RBNZ chief economist Paul Conway said after the RBNZ MPS annoucement. Here's what he said.

Floating home loan rates have started to rise on the back of the Reserve Bank's decision to to hike the Official Cash rate. So far ANZ, BNZ and Westpac have moved. Expect the others to follow. Interestingly there is 20 basis points difference between ANZ and Westpac's new rates.
