$823,000 for beach section
A beachfront Central Hawke's Bay section has sold for $823,000.

The Shoal Beach property, with views over sand dunes to a golden beach, was one of the last left in an upmarket, 51-section subdivision there.Its price has topped the $735,000 paid for another beachfront section auctioned last January.
Bayleys Real Estate agent Terry Thornton, who conducted that auction but not the recent sale, said the high price was not surprising in view of the demand for coastal properties and the subdivision's quality. "It's a very nice spot, with some wonderful fishing. The subdivision has got everything."
A section with a basic bach up the coast recently sold for about $800,000.
