After short delay nib life takes off

nib says its new Ultimate Life and Living Insurance suite of products will be available to advisers from Wednesday after, after delaying the initial launch date.

Tuesday, April 1st 2025, 7:12PM

In an email to advisers it says they will have access to "competitive, highly featured products that provide the protection solutions to meet the needs you’ve identified in your advice process."

The new products will be on the nibAPPLY platform and it will show a breakdown of the core premium, any options a client select, and the policy fees that apply for both health and life and living covers.

There is a 10% bundled discount on the health premiums if a client applies for both life and health at the same time, however it is not available to existing customers. There will be a multi-cover discount of up to 15% on the life and living premiums. These discounts are itemised in the premium illustration.

nibAPPLY includes auto adjudication functionality, providing advisers and their clients with faster underwriting decisions. This functionality will continue to be used for health applications from April 2. Ultimate Life and Living applications will all be manually underwritten initially, while the company beds down the auto adjudication rules for these covers.

nib will be implementing the auto adjudication rules and processes in the coming months, starting with the simpler covers and lower amounts insured. This approach will ensure that we are providing the fastest possible turnaround and the best terms we are able to.

The new products will be on QPR and Quotemonster allowing a comparison of premiums and features.

As with many new insurance products there are some launch campaign offers. One is a.$300 credit for new Life and Living clients. Clients will receive a $300 credit against their premiums after paying the first month’s premium. This is additional to any eligible discounts, and together will help clients save money while also protecting themselves and their families.

For existing nib members nib isextending its 10% bundled discount to members covered under a qualifying on-sale or legacy nib health insurance policy and who apply for and are issued an Ultimate Life and Living insurance policy (minimum premium applies). The 10% bundled discount will apply to the premium (excluding the policy fee) for all lives on the health policy, not just the person taking out the Life and Living policy.

"As well as the convenience of having cover with one provider, we also want to reward clients for their continued loyalty."
